Job Summary :
TDIndustries is seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber to support commercial new construction projects. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient installation, modification, and testing of complex plumbing systems in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and TDIndustries quality and safety standards. The Journeyman Plumber works closely with foremen, leadmen, apprentices, and other trades to ensure project milestones are met while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.
Company Overview:
Founded in 1946, TDIndustries is a premier, employee-owned Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) company delivering full-lifecycle building solutions—from design and construction to service and facilities maintenance. We power critical environments like hospitals, schools, data centers, stadiums, and commercial buildings across Texas and the Southwest.
Our Partners (employees) are the core of our success. As an employee-owned company, you have a voice, a stake, and a clear path to grow. Recognized by FORTUNE Magazine as a "100 Best Company to Work For," we invest in top training, career development, and a culture built on trust and servant leadership.
Join a growing team where your skills matter, and your future is built to last.
At TDIndustries, we believe opportunity should be built — and shared — by all. Whether you work with tools or technology, in the field or the office, we hire and grow people based on skill, potential, and integrity — never labels. We value the diverse paths that bring people to our team and welcome Partners of all backgrounds, including differences in race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, military service, and more. What matters most is how we work together to build excellence.
Essential Duties:
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings to plan and execute commercial plumbing installations.
• Perform layout and installation of domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, gas, and process piping systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and equipment including water heaters, valves, pumps, fixtures, and specialty plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut, thread, braze, solder, groove, fuse, and assemble piping systems using approved methods and tools.
• Install sleeves, roof penetrations, wall penetrations, pipe hangers, supports, and seismic bracing per specifications and code requirements.
• Perform underground, rough‑in, top‑out, and trim‑out phases of construction.
• Conduct system testing (air, water, hydrostatic, pressure testing) and assist with inspections and commissioning activities.
• Safely operate power tools, piping equipment, and construction machinery (lifts, forklifts, etc.).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with TDIndustries’ safety policies, PTSP, PPE use, and 6S standards.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and less experienced plumbers.
• Coordinate work with other trades, supervisors, and project teams to support schedule and quality goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on project needs.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
• High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses & Certifications
• Valid Journeyman Plumber License (state or jurisdictional requirement).
• OSHA 10 preferred (or ability to obtain).
Experience
• 4+ years of commercial construction plumbing experience.
• Experience on large commercial projects such as healthcare, education, offices, multifamily, industrial, or mixed‑use facilities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing codes, standards, and installation practices.
• Ability to independently perform layout and installation with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment.
• Capable of reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
