As per MOHRE labour market data, welders in the private sector earn a basic salary of AED 2,800 per month plus allowances totaling AED 3,500 on average as of 2026. Overtime pay is 125% of hourly rate for the first two hours and 150% thereafter. Contracts must specify salary and be approved by MOHRE.

Employers apply for a 60-day work permit via MOHRE for AED 600 in the skilled labour category 5 before your arrival. Upon entry, complete medical fitness test for AED 370 and apply for 2-year residence visa through ICP costing AED 1,025 including Emirates ID fees. Visa renews every 2 years with employer sponsorship.

Welders need a high school diploma or vocational welding certificate attested by the issuing country authority and MOHRE, plus minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Trade test may be required at MOHRE-approved centers for AED 200. Emirati welders get preference under Emiratisation quotas.
